Even Busy People Can Find Time to Exercise – Here are Some Tips

As busy as our lives seem to be its imperative that we make time to fit some sort of physical activity into our lives.  Not only is it beneficial to our bodies, it’s also good for the mind.

Don’t think you have enough time in the day to fit exercise into your daily schedule?  Here are some tips to help you achieve some physical activity each day.

Take a walk or run during lunch.  Instead of going out to eat with coworkers, pack a sandwich.  Not only will you save money but you’ll now have the time for a quick walk or run.  After you take a quick walk/run then you should still have time to sit down and eat your sandwich.

It’s been a long and all you want to do is veg out and watch some TV.  There’s nothing wrong with watching TV but instead of vegging out why not use this time to work out also?  There are simple exercises you can do while watching TV such as sit ups, push ups, stretches or even lifting weights.

Have you ever paid attention to how much time you spend on coffee breaks?  If not, take a stop watch tomorrow (or just use the clock) and add up all your coffee breaks.  If you cut back on coffee this would be a quick and easy way to use that time more wisely by taking a quick walk around the office.  If your office building has steps in it then climb them once or twice.  The endorphins from exercise are considered to be more energizing than caffeine stimulants anyways.

If you spend a lot of time during the week chatting with a friend you could turn exercise into a social event.  Instead of going out to eat or a coffee house to sit and chat invite them to become your workout buddy.  You can go jogging or walking or even to the gym but you’ll still be getting your ‘social’ time in also.

Do some housework.  Housework provides you with some basic necessities for staying in shape like stretching, working your muscles and getting your heart pumping.  Mowing the lawn, gardening, dusting and even cleaning the kitchen are all great ways to get a work out.  Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

To have an effective exercise plan you have to stick with it.  Make a plan that you will be able to stick with but more importantly make sure you keep with it.  Take baby steps and build up slowly, soon you’ll have a great exercise plan that you have made that fits into your busy life.
