Lost 16 Pounds and Gaining

Since I’ve been using the Nutrisystem plan I’ve lost a total of 16 pounds. The loss was in the first two months of being on the plan. After those first two months I noticed that I started to slack a little here and there. I’m a sucker for sweets and seeing the rest of my family enjoy an occasional donut from Dunkin Donuts made me decide that one wouldn’t hurt.

Here it is the end of March now and I have been doing horribly with my new eating lifestyle. I have found that I am beginning to get back into my old ways of snacking on junk food and eating proportions that are way more than I need.

Thoughout my life I have been one of those people that basically goes through the day without eating and then by late afternoon I start to browse through the cupboards for a quick fix to my hunger - mostly junk food - instead of selecting something that is good for me.

I’ve gained a few pounds back and my Nutrisystem food sits in its box waiting for me to get back on the schedule that I was doing so well with. I keep telling myself that if I hadn’t started cheating with the junk food I could possibly lost a total of 32 pounds.

Today is a Sunday and Sunday’s is when I do my weekly weigh in, which I haven’t down in a few weeks. I think I will get on the scale and see how much weight I have put back on and then “really” get myself on track again.

It’s a very hard road, especially when I have many years of unhealthy, snack craving, eating habits to overcome.

NutriSystem is working for me

I came across a Nutrisystem ad in October 2005 and decided I would give it a try. I was 176 pounds and I was sick of feeling and looking “fat”. When I received my first shipment I was excited to start and with my lifestyle the ability of popping the food into a microwave was right up my alley.

I lost a few pounds in the first week, which I figured was from water weight but I was still happy that the number on the scale was lower. :)
One important thing with using nutrisystem and with any program for losing weight is to drink plenty of water. I am NOT a water drinker. I have tried those tips of adding lemon or lime to change the flavor, etc. They didn’t work.

The solution that worked for me was buying the gallon jugs of spring water and just keeping it in a 2 gallon container with a spout in the fridge. Doing this helps me to drink my 8 glasses a day because the water is very cold and isn’t out of the tap. Although our tap water tastes fine according to my husband and father (they like drinking water) for me it just didn’t cut it.

So, when you hear them say that it IS VERY important to drink water in helping to keep the weight loss happening, believe them.
